Born in 1947, Langdon, ND, and grew up in Anamoose, ND. Graduated from the University of North Dakota 1969 and Law School in 1975. Served as a Military Intelligence Officer in Panama and Vietnam. Appointed Benson County Judge in 1975 and also served as Williams County Judge, as well as a municipal judge, county justice, and tribal judge. Appointed District Judge by Governor Arthur Link in 1979. Elected 1980, 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004. Married: wife, Amy.
