RE: Rule 30, N.D.R.Civ.P.; Signing of Depositions
The Committee has a request to extend the time for signing a deposition from 10 days in Rule 30, N.D.R.Civ.P., to 30 days as allowed by Rule 30, Fed.R.Civ.P.
As originally adopted, neither the federal rule nor the North Dakota rule contained a time limit. In 1970, the federal rule was amended to provide a 30 day time limit for signing a deposition. Subsequently, North Dakota's rule was amended to provide a 10 day time limit.
Should more time be allowed than 10 days for signing a deposition?
