RE: Recommendations of the Family Law Task Force
The Supreme Court has referred proposals of the Family Law Task Force to the Committee for review and recommendation back to the Court.
The proposals consist of two new North Dakota Rules of Court. The first, proposed Rule 8.6, N.D.R.Ct., governs lay guardians ad litem, which are referred to in the rule as custody investigators. The second, proposed Rule 8.7, N.D.R.Ct., governs law-trained guardians ad litem. The proposals will replace Rule 4.1, N.D.R.Ct. In addition, Appendix B, "Financial Statement and Affidavit," is revised for the Committee's consideration.
