Committee names finalists for Northwest judgeship

The Judicial Nominating Committee has selected three lawyers as candidates to fill the new Northwest Judicial District judgeship chambered in Minot:

William Bergman (Minot)
Todd Cresap (Minot)
Kelly Dillon (Voltaire)

By law, Governor John Hoeven will have thirty days to make a selection from the list of nominees, request another list, or call a special election.

The other applicants for the judgeship were:

Charles DeMakis (Minot)
Denise Hays (Burlington)
Paul Probst (Minot)
Reed Soderstrom (Minot)

The Judicial Nominating Committee consists of six regular members—Judge William W. McLees, Dale Mowry, Joanne Ottmar, Scott Porsborg, Robbie Quick, and Connie Sprynczynatyk and three temporary members from the judicial district—Wally Hankla, Valerie Bruels, and Mark Stenehjem.
